Episode Alerts

Post in a channel when a new episode of an anime or TV show, or a new manga chapter, comes out.

Overview#

Follow the shows your server watches, and Strelitzia posts in a channel when a new episode or chapter comes out. Each post has the title, the episode, the cover art and a link, plus your own message and any roles you want to ping.

Episode Alerts may not be available on every server yet. See Beta Features if you cannot find it in your dashboard.

How to Follow a Show#

  1. Go to the dashboard and select your server
  2. Navigate to the Episode Alerts section
  3. Under Follow a show, pick Anime, TV or Manga and type part of the title
  4. Click Follow and set up next to the show you want
  5. Choose the channel to post in, and optionally roles to mention, when to post and a message
  6. Click Follow

Following a show never posts episodes that are already out. The first post is the next new episode or chapter.

Some results can't be followed: movies (they have no episodes), shows that have ended, completed manga, and adult titles.

When It Posts#

Anime and TV episodes post at their air time. You can pick a delay instead:

OptionWhat it does
When it airsPosts at the broadcast time
1 hour laterPosts an hour after it airs
3 hours laterPosts three hours after it airs

Streaming sites often put an episode up a while after the TV broadcast, so a delay makes the link work when people click it. If an episode's air date moves, its post moves with it.

Season Drops#

Some services release a whole season at once. With Group season drops on (the default), episodes that come out at the same time are posted as one message for the whole season instead of one message per episode.

Manga#

Manga has no release schedule. A chapter posts within an hour of showing up on MangaDex. Only English chapters are posted.

Catching Up After Downtime#

If Strelitzia is offline when an episode comes out, it posts the episode when it's back, as long as that's within 12 hours. Episodes older than that are skipped, so a long outage never floods your channel with old posts.

Managing Shows#

Followed shows are grouped into Airing, Between seasons and Finished. Click Edit on a show to change its channel, mentions, timing or message, or to Stop following it. Finished shows post nothing more, so stop following them to free a slot.

The Coming up list shows the next posts, in your own timezone (set it in your account settings).

If a post fails, for example because Strelitzia can't send messages in the channel, the show appears under Needs fixing with the reason. Fix the cause, then save the show to clear the error.

Permissions#

Strelitzia needs View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links in the channel it posts in. The dashboard warns you if any are missing.

Plan Limits#

Servers can follow up to five shows on the free plan. Your server's usage is shown in Server settings.
