Logging

Track server events with comprehensive logging.

Logging#

Strelitzia provides detailed logging for a wide range of server events. Configure which events to log and where via the dashboard.

Supported Events#

  • Messages: Edits, deletes, bulk deletes
  • Members: Joins, leaves, role changes, nickname changes
  • Channels: Created, deleted, updated
  • Roles: Created, deleted, permission changes
  • Voice: Joins, leaves, moves, mutes, deafens
  • Moderation: Bans, kicks, warns, timeouts

Log Style#

Each category can post its logs in one of two styles:

  • Full: a detailed embed for every event, with every field, the original embeds and any attachments.
  • Minimal: one compact line per event. A colored tag such as ROLE, EDIT or DELETE, a short sentence, and the time. A second line shows the details when they matter, like an edit's before and after.

You choose a style for every category at once during setup, or one by one. You can change it any time from that category's row on the Audit Logs page, where a preview shows what each style looks like. Minimal message logs leave out attachments and list their file names instead.

Deleted and Edited Messages#

Message logs post a copy of each deleted message, including its text, embeds and attachments, and the text of an edited message before and after the edit. These copies live in your log channel, not on Strelitzia's servers, and stay until your staff delete them. Strelitzia keeps no copy of its own.

Copying a message from an age-restricted channel into a channel that isn't one would break Discord's rules on adult content. So when the message came from an age-restricted channel and your log channel isn't one, the log shows who and where but leaves out the text and files. To log those messages in full, make your message log channel age-restricted. Automatic setup does this for you when it creates the channel in a server that already has age-restricted channels. The same rule applies to AutoMod logs and to user monitor threads.

Setup#

  1. Go to the dashboard and select your server
  2. Open Audit Logs under Moderation in the sidebar
  3. Choose a log channel for each event category
  4. Toggle which events you want to track

Log Format#

Each log entry includes:

  • Timestamp
  • The user who performed the action
  • Details of what changed
  • Relevant IDs for audit purposes
