Ranking
XP-based leveling system with rank tiers and rewards.
Overview#
The Ranking system lets members earn XP through server activity: sending messages, joining voice chats, reacting to messages, creating threads, and participating in events. As members accumulate XP, they level up through configurable rank tiers that can grant roles, display custom names and colors, and show unique emojis. Fine-tune every aspect of the system from XP rates to decay rules through the dashboard.
How to Set Up#
- Go to the dashboard and select your server
- Navigate to the Ranking section
- Enable the XP sources you want (messages, voice, reactions, threads, events)
- Configure the XP range and cooldown for each source
- Create rank tiers: give each tier a name, emoji, color, and the XP threshold to reach it
- Assign role rewards to tiers so members automatically receive roles when they rank up
- Set up rank-up announcements to notify members when they reach a new tier
- Optionally configure XP multipliers, decay, and voice-specific settings
- Save your changes
Configuration Options#
XP Sources#
Each source can be independently enabled or disabled:
| Source | Description |
|---|---|
| Messages | XP earned for sending messages |
| Voice | XP earned for time spent in voice channels |
| Reactions | XP earned for adding reactions |
| Threads | XP earned for creating or participating in threads |
| Events | XP earned for joining scheduled events |
For each source you can set:
- XP range: Minimum and maximum XP awarded per event
- Cooldown: Seconds before XP can be earned again from the same source
Voice XP Settings#
Voice activity has additional controls:
- Session cap: Maximum XP earnable in a single voice session
- Daily cap: Maximum voice XP earnable per day
- AFK exclusion: Members in the AFK channel do not earn XP
- Require others: Members must be in a voice channel with at least one other non-bot member to earn XP
Rank Tiers#
Each tier includes:
- Name: Display name for the rank (e.g., Bronze, Silver, Gold)
- Emoji: An emoji shown alongside the rank
- Color: Accent color for the rank
- Role reward: A server role automatically granted when a member reaches this tier
Role Behavior on Rank Up#
- Stack roles: Members keep all previously earned tier roles
- Replace roles: Members only hold the role for their current tier; previous tier roles are removed
XP Multipliers#
Boost or reduce XP earn rates for specific roles or channels:
- Role multiplier: Members with a specific role earn XP at a modified rate
- Channel multiplier: XP earned in a specific channel is multiplied
Rank-Up Announcements#
- Style: Simple text, embed, or rank card image
- Mention on rank up: Mention the member in the announcement
- Auto-delete: Automatically remove the announcement after a set number of seconds
XP Decay#
- Inactive members gradually lose XP over time
- Configure the inactivity threshold and decay rate on the dashboard
Tips#
- Start with conservative XP ranges and adjust after observing how quickly members level up. It is easier to increase rates than to roll back inflated ranks.
- Use cooldowns to prevent spam. A 60-second message cooldown stops members from farming XP by sending rapid short messages.
- Voice require-others prevents members from idling alone in a voice channel to farm XP.
- XP multipliers are great for boosting activity in underused channels or rewarding members with special roles (e.g., server boosters).
- Replace roles keeps member role lists clean if your tiers have color roles. Stack roles is better if each tier grants cumulative perks.
- Auto-delete announcements after a few seconds to keep chat channels tidy while still giving members a moment of recognition.
- XP decay encourages ongoing participation and prevents inactive members from permanently holding top ranks.
